The best way to reach me is by email, donna.keller@skagit.edu, and I am very happy to arrange a time to Zoom or meet with you in person!   Office: Lewis 301J,  SVC Mt. Vernon Campus.

I teach because I love being with students, I love engaging with crucial issues, and I believe learning can be the most valuable and transformative process for oneself and the broader world. I have been at Skagit Valley College for three years and still pinch myself with how fortunate I am to be here, with incredible teaching/learning opportunities, wonderful collegiality, and rich diversity of faculty, students, and staff.  Learning Communities are one of my favorite ways to approach education because of the depth and energy that develops between the content areas and with students   I have also taught courses at Western Washington University including Environmental Sustainability, Environmental History and Ethics, Health Education, and an interdisciplinary Nutrition course.

My Masters of Arts from Antioch University of Seattle is in Whole Systems Design with a focus on the historical context of environmental problems, structures of globalization, and local and global food systems.  Prior to teaching I conducted environmental hazards education with Public Health – Seattle King County, coordinated cancer research grants for University of Washington, taught nutrition education for Washington State University, and worked and climbed with The Mountaineers.

Besides discussing, learning about, and working on world issues, my favorite things to do are being at my family’s property on the Cascade River near Marblemount, and being with my husband no matter what we are doing. Several years ago I won a trip to Ireland  - ask me about flying on the cliffs :) In my more youthful years I did a school trip to Mexico, and in my mid 30s backpacked through Swizterland, Austria, Italy, and Greece. I grew up in Bellingham and live there now with my wonderful husband and family.  We live in the most beautiful part of the world - Ireland being a close second.
