Doctor of Philosophy, Theatre Arts, University of Oregon, Eugene, OR. Dissertation, Presenting Oregon: Formative Forces of the Oregon Unit of the Federal Theatre Project. In this study, I historicize the productions of the Oregon Unit of the Federal Theatre Project from 1936 to 1939 in light of three forces existing in Portland, Oregon: the Little Theatre Movement, with its transformed professionalism; the tradition of vaudeville, made up of unemployed professionals desperate for work; and finally, the government, working at the state and federal level. The study places Bess Whitcomb, State Director of the Oregon Unit, in sharp focus as she navigated through the political landscape of Great Depression in Oregon. Committee Chair, Dr. Theresa J. May. June 2013. Masters Certificate, Oregon Leadership in Sustainability (OLIS), University of Oregon, Eugene, OR. Leadership training surrounding topics of climate change, sustainability, green city planning and bioregionalism. 2011-2012.
